World Book Day – 2nd March 2017

On 2nd March 2017 we were very pleased to welcome staff and pupils from St Mary’s Primary School as they celebrated World Book Day. The children, staff and the book swap volunteers all enjoyed the experience and the children all had the opportunity to bring and swop a book. We had a storyteller who kept them entertained and each child was presented with a sticker and a bookmark to celebrate their visit. We were very happy that our Community Project could be put to such good use. The stickers and book marks were made by Mike Allen, who is not only the Book Swap Treasurer but also co-ordinates the volunteers, which can be quite a difficult task.

“We would like to thank all of the volunteers including David Warren, who helps with fundraising, and look forward to welcoming all our regular readers and many new ones in the future.”
